One of the definitions of ‘engineering’ is ‘skillful or artful contrivance’. English is not my first language, so I had to look it up, but ‘contrivance’ is something like ‘making it up’. Maybe you were designing this portrait while painting? So this is the result of an engineering process? – I like the painting very much! 🙂
